Cohen, Morris Raphael

   American philosopher, of Russian origin. Born in Minsk in Belorussia, he moved to the US in 1892 and studied at the City College of New York, and then at Columbia and Harvard. After teaching in the New York public school system, he taught mathe-matics and philosophy at City College of New York. Later he taught at the University of Chicago. His writings include: Reflections of a Wandering Jew and A Dreamer's Journey as well as Reason and Nature, Law and the Social Order, Introduction to Logic and Scientific Method, Faith of a Liberal and The Meaning of Human History.
